The Komodo National Park

The Komodo National Park is located in Indonesia. It is also in the heart of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. It is assumed by many people that the park is tropical. However, Rinca and Komodo Island are dry savannah-like climates as many habitat Komodo dragons stay. Komodo Dragons – these giant lizards prefer dry and hot places, and live in savannas, open dry grasslands and tropical rainforests, as long as they are at lower elevations. They usually dig holes for shelter. These animals hunt in the afternoon, and seek shade in the hottest times during the day. They will use overhangs and ridges, for sun shelter and to ambush their prey. The Komodo Dragon can stand on its back legs, using it’s tail for support, in order to reach food that is normally out of reach
